Sabancaya is a melodic death metal band from Kalmar, Sweden. Consisting of 5 members: Vilgot Dahlgren (Lead Vocals), Albert Jonasson (Bass), Rasmus Hasselbom Trofast (Guitars), Alvin Karlsson (Guitars) and Noel Lundgren (Drums/Vocals)
The band was formed in 2021 and has since then released their debut Ep “Presentiment of Decay” and preformed live all around Sweden. Sabancaya has managed to make a name of themselves in the local metal scene in a short period of time. Many critics have been impressed by their huge sound and fascinated by the raw energy they deliver on stage.
The production process of their debut started back in 2023 when the band first established their sound. They were hugely influenced by classic Swedish metal bands, such as: The Haunted and At the gates. There is also some thrash influences among other great genres that were fused together to create the sound that we hear today.
At the beginning of 2024 they started the recording process. Over 2 weekends the band recorded at “East Hill Audio” with the producer and mixer Ragnar Östberg, also known as the lead guitarist of Eradikated.
After the release of their debut, the band has gained a steady following. Their main focus now is the preparations for their next release, which is going to be a concept album. Featuring a new and more distinct sound.
