Tilly Christiansson is a Swedish country & americana artist with influences from both sides of the Atlantic.
During the 2010’s, her witty lyrics and catchy melodies won over crowds as she performed as one half of country duo Fifth Floor on London’s ever-growing country music scene. The duo hit stages at legendary venues such as the original Hard Rock Café and the Troubadour, busked outside the BBC headquarters for BBC Music Day, and performed in the Soho Hoedown at Yamaha’s flagship store in London.
After half a decade in the UK, and a year-long stint in Canada, Tilly returned to her roots on the island of Öland to start over and pursue a solo career. Since then, she has released a homecoming anthem in two languages (Här på ön/By the Sea) and the road-trip song of the summer (Sunday Driving). Listeners local to Kalmar, Sweden, can hear her present her own country radio show twice a month on Kanon FM 98,6.
Fans of country artists like Miranda Lambert, Cam & Kassi Ashton will surely hear their influence on Tilly, who wrote her first song at 11 and discovered country music in her teens, as Taylor Swift’s debut album hit record stores. Combined with the melodic pop culture of Sweden, and a teen obsession with UK bands like McFly, it all boils down to a truly unique sound from Tilly, who always wanted a little more melody in her country and a little more substance to her pop.
