Songwriter Effy Simon fell in love with the warm acoustic tones at the age of 10, when she received her first ukulele from her grandmother.
Having previously written songs in English, Swedish folk-pop intertwined with jazz elements has become increasingly prominent in her music. But still with the same expressive and intimate sound.
Oskar from the blog “vakentimmar” quotes her music:
“I like her voice and when I listen through all her songs, you notice her wide range and how much emotion her voice carries. And it carries them very beautifully.”
Effy has been a support act for other artists with transcending genres such as Marit Bergman at Sommarpaveljongen in Helsingborg.
With two EPs out in both Swedish and English, she tells beautiful, sad, and whimsical stories through her music.
