Effy Simon, born in Småland and raised in Emmaboda, discovered her love for acoustic music at the age of 10, when she received her first ukulele from her grandmother.
After several years of writing songs in English, Effy has now found her unique voice in Swedish folk pop, beautifully intertwined with subtle elements of jazz.
Her music is described by the blog Vakentimmar: “I like her voice, and when I listen to all her songs, you notice her wide range and how much emotion her voice carries. And it carries them very beautifully.” Effy has previously warmed up audiences as the opening act for well-known artists such as Marit Bergman and Eric Gadd.
